I have a 1990 Ford F150 and the input shaft seal was leaking on the gearbox. Spent a little time searching the inter-web for info and the post's I found suggested the removal of the gearbox to replace the seal. Well I didn't really want to do that so I removed the air filter housing and the air inlet tube and loosened the bolt on coupler and slid the shaft out of the way careful to not lose the alignement. I was originally going to strap the steering wheel in place but spaced it off and got lucky. I poked a hole in the dust seal with an awl and pried it out with a radiator hose pick. Removed the snap ring and then drilled two small holes opposite each other into the seal and walked it out with two drywall screws equally. Then cleaned it well and re-installed the seal by tapping it gently back into place using a 1" deepwell socket and re-installed the snap-ring and dust cap. NO MORE LEAKY !!! Just hoping this helps someone out and apologies if I don't reply promptly as I don't get on here as much as I'd like.

I've replaced those seals by taking of the dust cover and snap ring off, Wrap a rag around it and start the engine and the pressure will shove the seal out.
