Hey all, helping a friend diagnose a power steering issue with an 07 Outlook. It's the same as the Acadia and Enclave. As low speed , there is no power steering assist. At high speeds, it comes on with a bit of assist. The owner replaced the pump, with No change in results. Swapped the fluid, which was dark and burnt and had flecks of metal. Any thoughts or suggestions on what else could be causing the hard steering effort?
I have been reading about the Electronic Variable Orifice valve, which seems to control the variable assist steering, but with flecks of metal, an electronic sensor doesn't seem like it will help , long term.
Thanks!
