hey guy's can any of you recommend me a power steering pulley puller / installer... and give me advice if any of them are safe to use impact tools on.... i guy i work with bought the snap on kit for like 230 bucks and is in good with the snappy man so he's not worried about impacting pulley's off, but the other day we had a newer Chrysler product of some kind come in 2000+ sorry can remember what specifically but that puller didn't even have anything that fit it so we ended up using a cheep old kit someone had laying around, and got the job done. then he ended up spending another like 70 bucks on the right piece to use the SO kit on Chrysler's and some ford's i believe is what the SO man said.

so long story short what would be the most comprehensive and reliable kit for a pro tech to purchase these day's without spending hundred's of dollars. I've been looking at a few and the lisle kit looks pretty darn good below are some that i think might work pretty well. let me know your experince's and what works for you.

The ATD set says right on the description will not work on Chrysler 3.3, 3.5 vehicles. I don't think any set will do them em all, I could be wrong but I have the snap on set and a Matco set and have had to pull out the Matco set before when the snap on didn't work. The snap on is the first on I reach for when doing them. It never fails there is gonna be one you run across that is a little bit larger or smaller than the tool you own.

I don't have a snap on set, but the matco does work real nice. Haven't found anything yet that it hasn't worked on.(YET)..." Not to be used with an impact gun" I think it a CYA thing.

I have the set from Summit Racing, used it once or twice and loaned it out once. No problems so far, now sitting in a drawer waiting to be used by the next generation

One important tip to pass on to the newbies replacing PS "press-fit" type pulleys: Be sure to note the depth that the pulley "face" is on the shaft before removing. The newley installed pulley must be the same depth or you will have pulley/belt misalignment problem.

I used one once and it took me and a professional engine builder about 45mins to get a pulley on. That was when I bought the Kastar set.

fwiw, i've only ever had to replace a ps pump pulley twice, once on a 04 dodge diesel, and once on a 97 powerstroke...both times i used a kit from o'reilly's(mastercraft i believe?) and it worked well

I've got this one from Snappy.
It works great. I had a red case imported set before (can't remember the name). The Snapon puller doesn't get into as tight of a hole as my old one.

There is one more from snappy to complete the set. I don't have a part number but you do need it in a professional environment.

I haven't needed it yet, but the Snappy guy mentioned that when I bought the set.

The gear wrench one is pretty good! I have used it twice and so far have no complaints. I would get that one or the lisle one. I bought the gear wrench one because I have the amazon prime:)
