I am working on my old 1978 Dodge powerwagon and am replacing the power steering reservoir. I need to pull the pulley off the existing reservoir. Which power steering pulley puller kit do you recommend? It will be mainly used on vehicles from the 70's and back, not so much on newer vehicles. I was looking at the Lisle kit on amazon but wanted your input. (I am not a full time technician, just work on my own stuff so I don't need a Snap on, Matco, etc.)

Anyone know the COO for the lisle puller? I checked their web site and it said nothing about coo but their headquarters is here in the U.S. ? I am fairly certain it is made here but wanted to check.

I have this one, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009OR93S/?tag=atomicindus08-20. Not sure if it's just me or what but I haven't been able to get a pulley off with it. It always seems like the part that goes on the lip on the pulley is going to slip or break something. Maybe it's just my technique or maybe the ones I've tried are just stuck on there. I've tried a Chrysler and a ford and didn't have luck. I'm thinking about getting one that the cup part the grabs the pulley lip goes all the way around instead of only going two thirds of the way around like the one I linked to does. Something like this "no slip" lisle puller, http://www.tooltopia.com/lisle-39000.aspx.

For the couple of times that I've needed to do a power steering pump (I too just work on my own stuff) I have used the parts store loaner puller. Some stores have an assortment of "rental" tools that can be borrowed at no charge, at least when you buy the part there.

I wen't ahead and bought the KD tools kit of amazon. Looks well made and had a quality appearance. I didn't like how the lisle kit only wrapped around 2/3 of the pulley.
