Power Tin Shears

Years ago my uncles barn burnt and we all helped to rebuild. One of the men brought a power tin shears that was Black & Decker if i I recall. It looked like a jig saw, except it had a power roller on top of the tin and an idler roller on the bottom. It ran over tin at any angle like a dream and no burrs to get caught on. It was like a can opener. I've never seen another. Can anyone recall any tool like this? I wish I could find one.

Yes that is right. Only ever seen one once and everyone liked it that I can recall. Wonder why you don't see them anymore?

MRPETE222 / Tubal Cain on youtube did a video on sheet metal cutting. I vaguely recall something like that in his video, could be mis-recalling, but worth a search.

I remember those. I used to work for B&D. They were good on very thin material. I'm sure they are obsolete as they were not a big seller.
They still make power shears including ones that attach to the front of a drill but I have not seen the two roller type you are referring to in a long time

Black & Decker discontinued the shear.

A company called P&P Power Inc. of Kincheloe, Michigan, apparently liked the tool enough that they're making a clone which P&P calls the "the VING (Versatile Innovative Non-Galling) Cutter"

P & P claims the tool is capable of cutting 20 gauge flat metal roofing and 24 gauge ribbed metal roofing. According to their website the tool currently costs $395.

The Black & Decker version sometimes shows up on Ebay. The Black & Decker were model number 7975. I haven't checked past auctions, but supposedly they sell for between $100 and $200 or so.

That is great thanks for all the reply's, guess I am not crazy after all. I did remember correctly. I will look those guys up online and buy one. I new a good idea should not go to waste! I hate ribbed tin it is so hard to cut diagonal. This makes the most sense to me. And probably less ****** fingers.
