Power Tool Battery Adapters

Is anyone using battery adapters for their power tools? I'm currently pretty vested in Milwaukee but I hate the paddle on their m18 grinders...

I hate the idea of buying another brand and having more batteries to track.

Wouldn't it be easier to just get an M18 grinder with a slide switch?

I have one but not so I could run other brand tools really. It was only to bring back my old Dewalt XRP Nicad drill back to life using M18 batteries.

I have the M18 grinder with slide switch, I'm happy with it.

I have this one that goes from Milwaukee batteries to Ryobi It works but it's a bit bulky. Don't use the Ryobi stuff that much anymore.

I have them to use DeWalt 20v max batteries in my old DeWalt 18v tools. Work great for me. The only problem is you can't cut full depth on the circle saw

I'm a trigger guy. Although I'd rather have a slide then the paddle offered.


Only thing concerning with swapping batteries from what I know now, is discharge sensing. Some tool brands use the tool to prevent over discharge, some use the battery. I'm not familiar enough with them all to know what's what.

Using a battery that is designed to be utilized with a tool discharge sensor on a separate tool, runs the risk of over discharging and bricking the battery.
