Power tool power cable

The power cable on my probable drill is not flexible it looks new and has no cracks on cable . what can i put on the cable to make it flexible . the cable stays in the shape like when get you get it out of the box ( it has the shape of a snake when you straightened out it curves back up ) .

Your cable has PVC (thermoplastic) insulation. A cable with a TPE or rubber insulation will be softer in cool weather.

Thanks for the information on cable . I will try putting the tool in the sun to see if it will help.

Some tools have great power cords. Skillsaw 77's and Makita in general come to mind. I have a couple Milwaukee detachable cords that I don't like. New tools seem to have a problem with cords that don't like to lay out flat. Some better, some not at all.

I'm wondering at this point if it would work to hang the tool by the plug in the hot sun for a day. Or in a pretty warm space, but not forcing the issue.

I think I can say the shinier the black plastic, the stiffer the cord. Funny, some HF tools are good and some are horrible when it come to this.

Best cord there is comes on a Festool. It wants to spring straight.

I noticed you have not shared with us who made the tool.

Some tools are known for very well behaved power cords, who made the corded tool you are writing about?
