i have an older craftsman router that was great until last night when i snapped one of the collet nuts. now i need to get the thing fixed as it belongs to my father in law and i like the tool.

any suggestions for threads regarding this( i searched but didnt find), or suggestions about where to get parts. i dont mind sending it out but would rather just take it to someplace in So Cal.

the model number is 315.25031 and its a 1hp craftsman router.

thanx

That's one of the things I don't like about Craftsman power tools. After a few years, they don't have parts available.

I had to discard a really nice cordless drill because new batteries could not be purchased. That was before I knew about places like Batteries Plus that would re-build the batteries.

I have been able to talk the Sears parts people into giving me the vendors name so I could go to them for parts.
I did this with my snowblower drive disks.
It sometime means I have to talk to the on duty manager.
Just ask the girl if you can talk to her boss, and the first thing you tell him is that she has not done anything wrong but you need some information she dosn't have.
That keeps her out of trouble and makes him feel inportant because you think he can do something she can't.
