Power tool storage ideas

Just finished assembling a 36"x 72"x 18" metal cabinet to place all my paint cans and supplies to get them off of wooden shelving that was taking up so much valuable space especially vertical space above the cans. It made a big difference in my garage.

Now I'm looking at the power tools that did not come in their own cases: skill saws sanders drills etc. The best idea I have seen posted so far was a lateral file cabinet.
The only problem is they are usually about 4 draws high, and I don't want to be using a stool to put tools in taller units.
Other than getting another "to be assembled" cabinet that would itself have wasted vertical space as this one only has 4 shelves for the 6' height (extra shelves are an expensive addition).

Any ideas?

Seems like there's plenty of options for 3-drawer units on Amazon:
More on Google:

But you could check out how contractors/carpenters are making very efficient shelving for their tool trailers:
There's a lot of YouTube videos on this theme

I suppose you could build some custom cubbies/shelves inside a metal cabinet for added security.

Let us know how it turns out.

I built the one in the second picture. The other one I bought at the Depot.

Started following some of the posted links. On Pinterest I saw some great ideas.
This one caught my attention I'm thinking not so tall and add wheels. I like the doors to keep out as much shop grunge as possible, and the removable organizers are a plus maybe I can get those pesky nuts and bolts organized as well.

I posted this in another GJ thread, but I'll add it here, too. I had a similar problem (deep space under some of my benches) and I wanted to use the vertical space. Instead of cabinets or drawers, I flipped my thinking and made pull out "walls" instead of drawers and just mounted my tools with hangers built to fit each tool. Several years later and I'm still loving this solution and it allows me to alter the layout as tools come or go.

I have a 4' x 8' overhead storage shelf in the garage. I put S hooks underneath and use paracord chokers around the power tool handles to hang them from the hooks. Some tools have a design that doesn't need a paracord loop.
It's high enough that they are above your head but easy to reach.

Similar, but mine is a bit higher:

I have a lateral file that's only two drawers high. I'm using it as an actual file cabinet, but I just wanted you to know that they do come in different heights.

On a high 8" shelf in the garden shed. I put them overlapping, bar to bar. The orange and white way up on the right.

First and best push mower I have had since 2009. Mine is a Troy Bilt with the Honda motor. A 1/4 acre of lawn, not including footprint of house.
