Power Tool Switch From Amazon

Thought you would like to see this switch I got from Amazon.
It actually has a relay right in the switch, so you must split the Hot and the neutral.
If power goes out, and comes back on, machine won't start till you press power again.
was only $11.**
Going to put it on my Craftsman Disk sander.

You don't think that might be an error? I have run 1 1/2 HP motors on a 15 Amp circuit without any problems and some just using a wall switch.

The motor rating is related to the surge current during starting. That can be several times the running load. The contacts in the switch need to be oversized for motor starting loads.

The switch I linked to above is only a couple of dollars more, and is rated for 2 HP on 120V.

Two ways to get around this;

- after it comes up on .CA, go to the address bar and change the .CA to .com. This will redirect you to the same page on .com. (conversely you can change anything on .com to .ca, this will let you know if that exact proct is available on .ca)

- if you copy the .com link instead of clicking on it, then paste it in the address bar, it will not redirect to .ca.

There may be other solutions I am not aware of, but these work for me.

Also, for sears, the first time you click, it redirects to the general international page....or something like that. If you close that page and click the link again, it should take you to the correct page that was linked

We had similar devices plugged into the line cords, at work, to preevent restarts after power failure. It is what is known as a holding relay Picture the relay contacts as a power switch in the hot leg of the line. The coil is across the line, AFTER the relay contacts. The start button is a momentary push button wired across the relay contacts. When you press the start button the coil is activated and the relay contacts close to keep the relay activated. Any power interruption and the relay drops out and does not close until you press the start button again. The red stop button just cuts power on the line side, before everything else.
