OK tool gurus.......need some info.

I need a POWER tool to chip some thin stucco of a concrete block wall. I've been doing it with hammer and heavy duty scraper, and that isn't cutting it.

I remember back in my Coast Guard days, the boat guys had some type of grinder/chisel type thing they used to remove corrosion from the boat hulls.

My friend has a grinder, so that would be an option to get the heavy stuff off anyway.

I'm looking for something I can rent....

thanks!!!

air hammer with a wide bladed chisel. I even welded a piece of 1/4" to a standard air hammer chisel to widen it to about 6". You can go wider but it depends on how well the stucco is stuck to the wall.

I considered that. I already tried a hammer drill with a chisel type bit. The stucco is very thin and it is hard to even get the thin blade of the paint scraper underneath.

What about this thing? I think it has a carbide wheel on it.

Ah yes, I spent many a days needle gunning and painting the hull on the USCGC Chase. That damn boat had more rust than metal.

I remember using two different things to remove paint and non-skid. The needle gun and the pneumatic air chisel. That air chisel may be a bit much for what you are doing though. I say give the needle gun a shot.

stucco stripper

Have you tried a commercial grade pressure washer? My 4200 psi washer with a turbo nozzle peeled a small block house (850 sq.ft.) in just a little under 10 hours. Hint, if you lay down some bird netting or nylon roll screen, the cleanup is much easier, and EPA required in some places. RED caddy

How about a multi tool they have a scraper blade. And the one at harbor freight is only about $60
