Looking at spending $900 - $1400 on a pressure washer from Simpson or Northern Tool.

DD's are usually more of a consumer grade, most of the time not worth repairing.

Belt drives and gear driven pumps are gear reduced. They turn slower, last longer and will pull from a tank.

My AR has been great. It’s on a Generac (lowest “commercial grade” unit).

I bought a pressure washer many years ago second hand, it has a Honda engine on it with a 4gpm Cat pump ... Its got some serious balls to it. From what they say, those pumps have 9 lives, you can rebuild them many times over.
