This is a thread to get the word out on a brand that doesn't get a lot of attention on here, Powerbuilt Pro Tech. So far all I have played with is their ratchets and screwdrivers. Came to the realization of a couple things after pondering going into the busy spring season.
1) I really like my Carlyle screwdrivers. And I never grab my William hard handles. So thanks to the classifieds, sold my Williams and got the Powerbuilts for the shop and moved the Carlyle to the service truck. As you can see same manufacturer. So if anybody else likes their Carlyles but want a more comprehensive set, take a look at the Powerbuilts.
2) Most of the time out in the field with the service truck, I either use 1/4 chrome sockets or 1/2 impact sockets, other than a set of 3/8 bit sockets. So to save some room in the drawers on the truck and simplify things, pulled the 3/8 stuff off. But now I wanted a compact 1/2 ratchet to act like a regular 3/8 ratchet. And after using the Powerbuilt 1/4 x 9 flex and 3/8 x 17 flex, thought I would give the 1/2 x 9 a try, and from what I can see, should fit my needs nicely.
In the last two pictures, the first ratchet is a 3/8 drive SK with a Williams 15mm, center is the 1/2 drive Powerbuilt with a Grey Pneumatic 15mm, and last is the 3/8 drive HF composite with a Grey Pneumatic 15mm.
As you can see, this is a very compact ratchet for a 1/2. And these ratchets have a nice smooth ratchet action, quick release and a comfortable handle. Will definitely be investing in more of these in the future. If anybody else has any Powerbuilt Pro Tech experience, feel free to post, as I try more of their tools I will be sure to pass on my thoughts. Thanks for reading.
