They're generic tools - AKA not the real deal.

I think it depends on the specific tool. Their reversible ratcheting combination wrenches are probably as good as anyone else's. Powerbuilt is currently Carquest's house brand. I don't think the line is anything to get excited over. Asian made stuff that would probably be on par with Taiwan made harbor freight.

I got a Powerbuilt socket (metric and SAE, short and deep) and ratchet set from Costco a few years on clearance for like $15 and they've been a great junkyard set.

I have had a few powerbuilt tools over the years and i think they are decent for an import tool. I would rate some of it even slightly higher than harbor freight.

I don't have any powerbuilt common tools but for there special kits for the price u can't beat em I have a spindle nut set a master disc brake set picked up for 30 a piece at the pawn shop and bought there impact 4 piece axle nut set new at advanced and none of them ever let me down the first two don't get used that often but I use the axle but set almost daily for a year no no problems yet

I have their cooling pressure tester, it has the most adapters out of any kit I have seen and the universal ones work well. I have their axle nut set as well. Both great products and used in a professional environment everyday.

I don't have their ball joint set but it does have a lot of adapters with it, looks like a solid kit.

And I'm going to say it, their cooling pressure kit was way more versatile the. My snap on one it replaced.

Advance Auto uses them as their loaner kits. I really like the serpentine belt kit I bought. I've used several of the kits. They seem to be decent.

Generally okay, but ratchet mechanisms are loose, and breaker bars tend to... break.

They make a crank pulley holder for Hondas that works well.

They aren't Snap On or MAC, but they aren't junk either. For the price, they are real solid.

I have an older little 1/4" Powerbuilt ratchet in my spare box. Seems alright but I don't use it much.
