House is about to be rented out with new tenants at the beginning of the month. The old tenants had dogs and they **** and pissed in the house as well as outside. The tenants never cleaned up outside so I am guessing the flies put eggs in the poop and that is why there are everywhere. I want to know what do you guys recommend that I do to get this fly problem handled? There are two windows in the house that there are little baby flies in the screen. No matter how many times I clean it out, not but 2 hours later there are a bunch more on it.

You still have a hidden food source.

Find where they are the most populated and start hunting.

As a bachelor, I found a decomposed onion(?) under my sink that caused a small swarm of flies. >_<

As for fleas, if you have the time, do the fumigation treatment. Last time a rental needed it bad, it took three applications. It was a Raid Flea Bomb. Pretty good stuff.

We used some sort of no name flea/tic spray located at either Home Depot or Lowes. Did the trick in two applications.

Get some malithion 50 and mix it about 20% stronger than on the lable. Spray everything in and around the house, even furniture. Its non toxic to humans and animalsbbut deadly to all bugs and insects.Do this once a week for 3 weeks, the egg/larval cycle of fleas takes 10 days. This way you will anialate all of them. It will smell a bit funkey at first, just leave the windows open for a day and all will be well.We spray livestock and stalls with this. We had a flea outbreak in the house a couple years back and had to resort to this, sprayed the dogs, the ground around the house, all of it.It will also eliminate earwigs, bedbugs, spiders, all of it.

Are they flies (on the screens) or are they gnats or mealy flies? I remember once I had a (paper) can of oatmeal that I forgot about in the cupboard. One day I noticed little flies all over my kitchen. They had eaten through the cardboard can and were all over the place. And it doesn't take long for garbage to be tucked away before gnats will be coming out. Even in a garbage can. So, check everywhere for garbage. These guys pretty much hit it on the fleas. I have used bombs before but you have to keep doing it. They hatch out and keep coming back for more. Good luck.

Flies or fleas?

For flies, set off pest bombs, and set them off in the attic also. Flies will come in thru attic roof vents to a warm area, then migrate into the house thru the smallest opening.

Fleas are a different story. For fleas you have to treat at least twice. You treat once for the adults, then one to two weeks later treat again. Sprays and bombs do not affect the nits, so you have to wait until they hatch to get them. Flea infestation is a hard thing to get rid of unless you have patience.

Tempo insecticide will work and is labeled for indoor use. It is a contact killer and has residual effects.
