New building is almost finished. Time to run power. When we bought the land, we put a mobile home for temporary housing while we planned our eventual home. We still have the power panel that was set next to it. This panel is fed from 450ft away with 4/0 4/0 4/0 with a local ground rod. I have service run to a close by building via 4 cables of #1 copper. It shares the local ground with this panel. My new building is about 100 feet away. I am considering my options.
Wire the new building from the existing panel, or scrap this eyesore of a yard ornament and just extend the service line to the new building and feed the old building from there. I never wired the old building so moving the service to it is no issue.
If I extend the line I will still need an above ground junction box or can I do a subterranean?
What would you do?
