Looking to buy a new jointer and settled on the Powermatic 60HH helical head. Does anyone know where to get one for less than $2500.00 that seems to be the only price in the entire world. How about a $ off code anything , free financing etc. I can stretch it out to 12 mos. with my Amazon card but that is still over $200 a month after you add the tax. Just asking maybe one of you saw something I did not.
Thanks.....Sarge

Powermatic is one of the companies that does not allow authorized resellers to set their own prices (Festool is another). Woodcraft usually has a 10% off PM stuff twice a year (maybe November?), but that is about it for sales.

The Grizzly G0490X would save you $800 or so. I have heard pretty good things on the various woodworking forums about the Grizzly jointers, so that may be a consideration.

IMHO, you can try the previously owned Jointer Market, somebody must have given up one that they bought new.

Craigslist, I have an 8" Faye & Eagan I paid $600 for. Better than a new Chinese machine. They are out there, be patient.

Thanks LeeG good to know. Thought about buying used there certainly not a shortage of jointers , just not the one I want. "Patients " that seems to be the key as with all things in life. Thanks to all.

I would put my money in a helical head planer, a jointer not so much. You should be able to find a good older 12" for less than $2500. A US made PM 60 should run about $1200. Jointers are hard to wear out. If the tables are flat and the fence is straight (no guarantee on a new one), then bearings are about all it should need.
