Powermatic HJ-12 jointer

Has anyone ever seen a Powermatic HJ-12 jointer before? I can't seem to find any reference to that model anywhere online. I see one on a local auction (painted white at some point). It has a powermatic tag with that model number engraved.

That doesn't "seem to me" to be a Powermatic model #. I have a PM-60 8" jointer. All of the jointer model numbers start with PM afaik.

It also doesn't look like any powermatic I've ever seen. Rebrand maybe?

That looks suspicious to me. Never seen a Powermatic badge like that. Guess you could call Powermatic with the serial #

99% sure that's a rebadge/import/fake/etc.

HJ-12 is the number of a Chinese Bridgewood jointer. It is possible that Powermatic is importing them.

Color me skeptical as well. The badge looks like a fake.

I was curious if it was at all related to the Jet JJ-12, which also seems to be scarce in info. (given the Jet/Powermatic relationship.)

It seems to have the Jet beige color.

The Jet likely comes out of the same Chinese factory as the Bridgewood. Powermatic is now just another import. Go find an old Northfield or Crescent 12".
