In cleaning dads shop I ran across a Powermig 130 welding machine I’d forgotten about. Don’t recall dad doing much welding. Has a small tank and a cart.

This worth getting operational?

Likely hasn’t been ran in 30 years.

Unless it was broken when it was stored, it probably isn't broken now.

Try it. If it works and welds OK, use it. If not, it is probably easy to fix, but unless you see it as a challenge, or it has sentimental value, I'd get a more modern inverter.

Take the housing off and blow out the twenty years worth of dust accumulation. Inspect the wire for corrosion on the outer wrap, and consider getting a new spool if there’s visible corrosion.

Make sure there’s gas in the bottle, the gas delivery hose isn’t cracked and leaking, and if everything looks normal, give it a shot. I wouldn’t think a transformer welder has much that can go bad from sitting for an extended period….it’s not like a banana, with a limited shelf life.
