I just scored this Powr Kraft 3/8 RH ratchet from FleaBay after some furious bidding,I came out on top at $9.50.My question to you ratchet experts is who made this ratchet? From reading thru the New Britain thread,I came to understand how many different brands NB made ratchets for, including Powr Kraft, but looking at this one,it looks more like something made by Thorsen.Any opinions?Powr Kraft Ratchet 1.jpg

Looks like a 77MC ?(great ratchet) Looks like a Bonney(great ratchet) ! ?
Most of those old round nose are kickass ratchets.
Get something you can get a kit for. Odds are you'll never need a kit(unless you're my avatar) but the fear mongering around here is intense.
SK,Williams 52-53 or Wright should be the first thoughts. Proto-Facom too

Here's yours.or not ? :lol_hitti
Enjou the tool. If you get blood pressure problems due to effort needed to reverse, over and over and over gain, I'll buy it.
That's another issue around here. Pear heads reverse easier !! Taiwan junk is backwards to reverse !!!
I'm weird. I take bolts out..OR. Put bolts in. I try to avoid doing both at the exact same time. :D

Many thanks to Know Wosad and the rest of you guys.
Wosad, this ratchet is something I bid on because I thought I had a chance of winning an interesting piece that was very clean.I started out looking for a Husky CB43 and wound up falling down the rabbit hole.If this ratchet is something you want to own,I am open to trades.

hmmmm.... hang on to it and wait for another Husky CB43 to pop up. Ebay tools are way cheap right now - the stuff is not selling.

the Thorsen 77JC is actually a fairly nice unit. pain in the *** to open up with that whacky clip ring, but a little dab of white lithium grease and some light oil will have it running a bit smoother.

patent number stamped on it? that's always a way to identify maker - just google "patent (number)".

That Thorsen style is touted as being the AK47 of the ratchet world. My experience bears that out.

Definite keeper!
