I picked up a nice old Craftsman Band Saw with a Craftsman stand for next to nothing. On the stand was attached a POWR-PANL. I didn't try it but I was wondering if anyone has modified these POWR-PANL's for modern 3-prong receptacles. Thanks

That's an interesting device, I've never seen one before. It would ruin its originality but I don't see why you couldn't modify it to take three prong receptacles.

I know I could try to find 2 to 3 prong adapters but that's hokey. I figured someone here already did this. Maybe not!

I saw a piece about somebody converting one of these some time ago. Can't recall if it was a thread here on GJ, a youtube video or what but it's been done. I wasn't impressed with the results.

Yes, I have about 11 that I am working on changing over. Unfortunately, it requires a little bit of metal work to make it look OEM. I’ve only done one so far, I’ll post a picture later. Below are the receptacles that I am using.

Here are some pictures of using the grounded receptacles. There was a bit of fiddling with patching the holes. The original receptacles were rectangle versus the new ones being square. I also had to relocate the two screws (interference with the new square receptacles). This one used solder/copper, which at least to me was a pain. This is still a work in progress. I think I’ll try using the mig on the next one. I wanted to still retain the original words of the back panel.

Search around for price comparison, I found that the pricing varied widely. I paid $5.04 CAD for each, then we get the US discount of about 25% on the currency conversion to US dollars.

Those look like standard replacement receptacles for an electric range. Widely available.
