I think they might be the same company.

Maybe they're in some kind of partnership or joint venture with PowerProbe. I downloaded the PP100 manual, and it's reads like it was written by the same person that wrote the PP3 manual. The drawings look the same. The replaceable rocker switch looks identical.

I like the "scope" feature. The manual doesn't say what the sample rate is.

The price is more reasonable that the price of the Hook. There doesn't seem to be any US distributors.

You won't know until its been in your box for a month or two unless you do a lot of electrical then maybe sooner, but either one I bet will sell for a fair price used on ebay.

The PP3 may be able to do many of the things functionally using the speaker, but that big display on PP100 sure looks nice ***. OTOH I bought my PP3 from Amazon for $95 shipped and the PP100 looks like 145E or about $220 USD and gotta figure ZERO warranty unless you like shipping etc to the UK.

More than anything it makes me hot for the PP4 or PP200, that next gen tool should be awesome when it gets here.

*** Once you have some experience listening to sensors, the sound of a bad one might be very obvious vs a good one. Same though might be required with the scope.

In the UK the Power Probe 3 cost about £100 and the PP100 is about £115. The PP3 has quite a following but the Sealey PP100 seems to be appearing everywhere. Not had chance to play with one much but I am tempted to buy one.

Sealey are major brand in the UK but don't tend to make much, just rebranding stuff made elsewhere. Prices are usually keen on mid-range products at mid-range quality.

I'm giving this one a bump for an update.

How do you like it now after having lived with it and used it a while ?
(I have a PowerProbe3 which I live but was thinking about an update as I am setting up a second set of tools.)

And a follow up question if I may. Is the top probe connection a thread or standard push on banana type connection.

I would like to know if this is available in the USA? Seems like a lower cost and more compact alternative to the power probe hook?
