PPG Pit-guard/pitthane ultra?

Hey guys I had my mind set on Epoxy Coat and looked into Legacy Industrial a bit and now a friend is trying to talk me into some PPG product that he can get me cheaper then both and same day. Anyway I never heard of people using PPG on here so any reviews or thoughts on the product?

Large manufacturer, mostly into automotive coatings. I was not aware they manufactured coatings in kit form for home-owners.

I am sure they won't be giving you the attention that the vendor's on this site will offer.

I know who they are, supposedly there epoxy floors are in all the local dealerships and stuff. They don't have any "kits" but the guy I know can get me stuff for cost so with everything needed to make a kit it would be cheaper BUT I am still leaning towards epoxy coat and or Legacy Ind.

Have used PPG Industrial and Marine Coatings for years.....the stuff is good. Some of it can be a bit pricy though for the DIY and in some cases the work time with them can be very limited if you don't have a process or plan down on the application of the coatings. I have some PPG floors that have been down in DOD shops and the stuff has held up well with HD traffic from both forklifts and metal wheeled parts carts rolling across the floor.
I have tried the product the OP posted about.....I did not like the way it worked or looked...but that's just me. I have never used many of the lower end coatings, just tested them out for the local reps and gave my feedback. I tend to stick with the high end coatings....better results and far less chance for a call back or floor failure.
Of course with any floor coating project correct and adequate prep is key. You can have the best products in the world but if all you do is sweep and maybe throw alittle muratic acid mix on the floor you are setting yourself up for failure....again just my opinion. I am by no means an expert in all coatings and applications...but I have my fair share of finished jobs under my belt over the last 10yrs or so and I can count on one hand the number of call backs i have had to take care of in all these years.....so I guess I am doing something right, or i'm just darn lucky!

Are you saying that $10 of muriatic acid can not replace $40,00 to $50,000 worth of concrete preparation equipment?!?

You bet Bud! Sell it all off, all that proper prep stuff is just smoke and mirrors!

Let me know when in can send up a truck to pick up your gear.....I'll even throw in a case of acid and a new push broom!!
