I know you guys and gals are out there!
I am looking to connect with a like minded group that would like to discuss, display and help each other find the stuff that we need to complete our objective of documenting, completing and confirming these pieces of AMERICAN HISTORY.

Pictures, guesses, proof, catalog pages and BS will be judged and graded, especially the "BS"!

Let me know what you think, let me know what you have, and IF YOU DON'T HAVE A PICTURE, THEN SHHHHH!!!! LOL!

Let's make this fun!

Take care Y'all!

Here are some circa 1932 CF-87 3/8" drive ratchets. I believe they were made by Snap-On.

^ those are some cool ratchets!

I can't attest to this being "pre 1940's", as I can only go by what Mr. Lauver has said the date range on this "circle H" set is.

Somewhere around here is another one kinda-sorta like it, but it's a "BE". No idea where it is right now.

Zoomie: i've got a ton of old Craftsman tools pre 1940's and even a few catalogs too if you want to just start a VINTAGE CRAFTSMAN THREAD.

so just have to ask did you mean to post just PRE 1940's tools since you just posted Snap on ratchets or did you post those on the wrong thread. so if you want all pre 1940's hand tools you might want to change the name. this would work better in VINTAGE TOOLS SECTION i think and i'm sure one of the MODS would move it unless you just want to start over in the Vintage section and maybe 4c will re post his post?

just checking to see what the OP is looking for. also i might not have many pictures yet cause most are in my dead laptop, but as i get ORGANIZED i'll have more.

cheers and good idea!!

Zoomie: since your title doesn't show Snap on maybe you could just start a brand new thread and keep it just Craftsman like the title or change the title to say all wrenches and tools pre 1940's if that was your intention.

the only other post besides yours that would add to the new thread so far is 4C's and i bet he's post again if you started a new thread in Vintage.

cheers

I picked this up a few years ago, it's got a 1/2 and a 9/32 C-series set in it. It's missing a few pieces out of the sets but it's been a while since I looked at it. The box seems like it used to be maroon but I have no idea if it's a box that was offered with the set or not.

I've got a few pieces I've picked up over the years. Not sure if all are pre-40's but I'll post up some pictures when I get a chance. Not really a collector, but maybe some will be of interest to those that are.

Hi Guys, I have been restoring vintage Arn for a number of years and have recently really gotten into working on my machines with the tools from the era. This thread looks like a place I can share some of my stuff and also learn from others with more knowledge and similar collections. I am also hoping to find some missing pieces. Im still searching for stubby and combos, and deep 1/2 sockets. It has been an addictive pursue, love scoring the missing wrench!! I haven't really met a ton of people who is into Circle H, BE and Vanadium. But I will say that a few guys here have helps me start my adventure into this world :)

I built up the 1937 quarter inch set mostly by accident. Correct box and the complete 16 pc set. Nearly correct box and all the sockets of the 11pc set.

I wasn't really trying but the stuff is common enough it worked out.
And s handful of similar spares plus some 3/8" sockets also.

My pics don't work here but I was surprised it was so easy to even match the socket markings (3 types) and make it happen.

Chrome Vanadium, Craftsman Vanadium and oddball sets I'm working on.

Note the Craftsman Vanadium......top and bottom are CI, while middle is AF.

Craftsman (sans Vanadium), both CI, one with the infamous N4.

And last, an oddball.....no code that I can see.

These may be my oldest Craftsman wrenches.
Apparently, not pre forties, but they do match a couple of twersty's above, so I thought I'd share them here anyway.
