I've had these for a few years, found them on feebay and they've been great for me.

Does anyone know who made them for Napa? I'm curious what ratchet would be the closest available equivalent.

Both have 60 teeth.

Apex

USA made stuff was Armstrong

Later Taiwan/imported was Gearwrench

Now they contract direct with Taiwan manufacturers for Carlyle.

Have those same sets. My main go-to's. Love them.

These are both in my travel boxes. Having 1/4 drive to 15mm and 3/8 down to 6mm works well for me since normally I find the length of 1/4 ratchets to be unsatisfactory for the thin places only their heads fit, but leave minimal room to operate, sometimes with only finger tips.

I cut foam sheet inserts for both to stop the rattle in transit.

As was said these were made by gearwrench and stamped napa. I persnally believe they were made in taiwan (too early for gearwrench china)... but what the hell do I know?

They are good sockets, I have them in a travel box, also.

As the crappy pictures below illustrate, below the UPC symbol on the outer box is printed:
"Manufactured for NAPA Distribution Centers by: Danaher Tool Group, Sparks, MD 21152 U.S.A. Made in China"

My spin on this is these were made in the SATA plant in China and were the forerunners to moving some of Gearwrench's production to China. Possibly testing out Gearwrench's PRC production. Also, I don't think these sets aren't that old. My guess is about 5 years or so since Carlyle came out in 2012. :dunno:

Surprising since the OP's are 60 tooth. Where did you get the pix? Do you have the same sets?

Yes. I got them awhile back from cripe when they were like $25 for the 1/4 set and $35 maybe for the 3/8 set. The Gearwrench ratchets originally were 60 tooth. I think the 84 tooth models showed up 2-3 years ago. :dunno:
