Back in the early 90's I was a mechanic at an Oldsmobile dealer. When we had to degrease something, we were provided Pre-Kleano. We would spray it through one of these air/solvent guns. https://shop.snapon.com/product/Water-Nozzles-and-Hoses/Air-Solvent-Gun-(Blue-Point)/GA299
It worked great, and evaporated pretty quick. Looking for a cheaper alternative to Pre-Kleano. I use acetone to degrease prior to welding, but that seems pretty harsh for cleaning around an engine bay. Looking for something that doesn't require rinsing, and will also evaporate rather quickly.

Pre Kleano is simply W&G remover. RM brand (BASF) IIRC. Any W&G remover would perform similar for the task you described. Southern Polyurethanes makes an excellent solvent W&G remover that is less than 1/2 the price of RM's. SPI 700. 42.95/gallon 154.98/5 gallon. Shipping is free as well.

I like Pre-Kleano but it was harder for me to get so I switched to Napa's I think it is called, kleanz Easy. I really liked the product but the price became crazy so I switched to some cheap off brand ( can't remember the name) that I would rate as only ok..

Isopropyl alcohol works well and is pretty cheap in larger volumes.
