Ok guys. I am in the process of running wiring in my new shop, and want to run the 220v wiring to the compressor location. I have not yet bought the compressor that will go there, but intend to get a decent 60-gal upright with two-stage pump. I am assuming that I should plan on up to a 5hp motor, so I am figuring that running 8-2 Romex to that location should be adequate for most compressors, and will probably end up being overkill if I end up with less than a 5hp motor.
I just want to get the wiring run so that I can move on to insulation/sheetrock, etc.
I also intend to run 6-3 Romex to a couple of locations for welder plugs.
Does this sound like a reasonable plan?
