Precision Micro Screwdriver Set with Size/Shape Markings on Top?

I want to buy a nice set of 30 to 50 micro screwdrivers from Wiha or Wera probably but all of them that I've seen have plain tops. It seems ridiculuous to try to find what size/shape you want from the front body of the driver when you have them in a stand and can't see past the first row.

I assume they aren't marking the top for cost savings. But is there any brand out there that does mark the top, so when in a square stand (say 5 rows of 5 or more), you can look from the top down to find the 000 Philips or #5 Torx?

Or has anyone done any work arounds and etched those on themselves? Or am I overthinking this and can you find the tool you want just fine from the body markings only?

Wiha Picofinish is the only one that I know of.

I print in the smallest font on my label maker, two lines so it's really small. Then I cut it out and stick them on the cap.

Not quite as good as marked tools and will take up a little more room but you can put the sizes on the stand.

Put them in the stand in some logical fashion and you will get used to what is where soon enough.

That's exactly what I am looking for with respect to the top! How does the quality of the picofinish line stand up to the others? I'm unfamiliar with all of their different product lines. Is this a quality line or a budget model?

It's their top of the line model. As far as I know it's the same shank with a different handle. I don't think they have a master set but you can get the usual drivers in smaller sets.

3 out of 47 though, I think you'll be fine. People complain about stupid things on Amazon all the time, like time to ship or packing (neither have anything to do with the items).

In this case, one two star review is complaining about the text(that no one else has mentioned, maybe a warehouse deal?). The other complains about the quality but doesn't explain what about them is low quality, sounds like a troll.

The three star review is complaining about the tool roll folding instead of rolling.

But it also seems like they don't sell a "complete" set, whatever that means. Compared to their other product lines, it seems like there's twice as many variants and sizes (such as pentalobe) in their other product lines.

Ironically, if I go with the picofinish line, it means I'll wind up with fewer micro screwdrivers total, which makes the markings on top less necessary than the 50-piece sets that the rest of their lineups come in.

It could very well be that I don't need the whole 50-set from their other line up and the standard picofinish ones are fine for my needs as a hobbyist. I hate not having a tool when I need it so I was hoping to get a "full" set and never think about it again. I'll probably never use pentalobe other than the one size iPhones use, but I don't want to stop a project for lack of a tool, especially one that can't be improvised. You can improvise many tools but not a micro screwdriver. You either have the right size or you dont. Unless you want to take the wrong size tool and file/sharpen it down, ruining it.

I hear you there and I agree that it's weird. I have spoken to a few people at Wiha and some of their distributors about this. Honestly, any European tool company that comes out with a complete set and marked on the top has my business.

That being said...I don't think any other brand has more than what's available in the Picofinish line in a standard micro screwdriver. Wiha's master set is truly a one-off in the industry, it's a shame they don't mark the top. Some has said because it will wear off...but the top spins so it wouldn't be rubbing against your finger.

Maybe keep the oddball in the regular Wihas, then pick up the slotted, phillips, hex or ball hex, nut drivers, and torx in Picofinish?

If you are ok with a bit set then the Wiha 75965 Master Tech bit set is an option. It comes in a metal case and the location for every bit is marked. It's too expensive on Amazon right now but it regularly hits the $60-70 range.
