I tend to use these for getting into small spaces and lubing pivots etc. They are really handy. You can fill them with the lube of your choice.

Does anyone have one they would recommend? I have had the plastic style and they seem to work well. They dont appear to leak but they do crack over time and then you have to toss them.
I have heard the metal ones leak.

I am not opposed to buying the plastic ones and just accepting the fact i will have to throw them away eventually.

I store them upright just out of paranoia thinking that will keep them from leaking. I have had one for a couple years and it just cracked on me so i now i am on the hunt for another or perhaps something different that is better but provides the same function.

Thanks. That one is a bit bigger which might come in handy.

This is what I use for firearms, these are designed with an O ring to stop leaks.

i have read and some users say it leaks around the button long term. Have you had any issues with that at all. It looks real nice....but that part has me concerned. I have gone down a rabbit hole trying to find the perfect one....which probably is a waste of life to be honest :)

The metal Titan one isn't bad—I bought one for lubing the ball oilers in the Atlas/Craftsman 12" lathe I used to have and it was pretty good.

The one in the OP looks like the one Aurora used to sell for HO slot cars. It came filled with some red oil—ATF, perhaps? The plastic eventually cracked iirc, but it lasted longer than it really had any right to.

I found this oiler at a local watch repair supply house. Many of the other oilers seem to have issues with leaking or are just plain junk. This Lubristyl oiler is Swiss made and I believe was about $30. The Lubristyl oiler comes filled with Neoval G-8, a high quality lubricant for metals and plastics. When I use up the Neoval I will fill it with something else.
