Been wanting a set of small Torx drivers for some time, couldn't run across any handily. Saw these on Amazon, figured for $4.20 shipped, how bad could they be?

Turns out not too bad, could be better, but not for four bucks! Wasn't exactly as advertised, there were a couple extra tiny phillips drivers included. Tried them out on a small computer hard drive - T-6 and T-8 sizes. Some of the screws were in there pretty tight, really had to bear down on the handles - but did the job. The swivel knobs on the top are not much use - they don't swivel smoothly. Overall, not a bad investment. (And yes, T-3 is darn small).

I have a couple Pittsburgh interchangeable bit sets from Harbor Freight. I think I paid around $6 at the time for them, never used any of them yet, but they sure are handy to have around. The bit holder in the 32 piece set is much better than the 33 piece, IMO.

For a high quality solution; that won't break and grip tiny precision TORX screws VERY well... look to wiha or wera for truly superior quality, durability, performance.

Wera Kraftform Micro TORX drivers or some of the interchangeable bit/driver sets:

Wiha: bit sets, drivers or precision screwdriver sets:

Search online for better prices then direct from the company; there are better prices from different vendors.

Bet you don't like Harbor Freight or Craftsman either! :bounce::bounce:

I had Craftsman t-7 driver and it was POS, stripped every single bolts. So I replaced with Wiha, fits tighter on the head and never stripped any bolts after that.

It's your choice, go try cheap precision driver.

I have a Picquic Teeny Turner with the really small torx bits that I use for laptops. Picked it up at Micro Center a while back.

Given a choice, I'd rather have a budget regular screwdriver set then a budget precision set. For some of these small torx and phillips screws there's no margin for error.

If you're serious get a Wiha set. It doesn't have to be this complete:

Model # or link for the large set like that?

Another vote for Wiha.

Due to access issues with the bit types of sets, and the collet type shafts to slide in when placing pressure on the handle, I went for the Drive-Loc versions (both System 4 & System 6). Shafts lock in position via ball detents in the shafts. Haven't had a problem getting to recessed screws since getting these. :rocker:

Given the potential aftermath of stripped precision screws, and the frequency I deal with them (electronics), good tools were the only way to go for me.

I wasn't aware of Wiha quality, but it seems to be unanimous that Wiha worth the price.

What do you guys have to say about Klein screwdriver bits? Wiha still being better?

This is a very nice set.

What is special/different about the yellow ones?

Right there with ya. Wow...I had a hard time spending $369 for my HF box...I think the Wiha would be very nice but the price is way out of my league.

They seem expensive, but if you do a lot of work with precision screws, they're well worth the money. As someone mentioned, when you divide out the cost, they're really not that expensive at all (~$5 per driver).

Far fewer stripped screws and any damage that can result from them (think driver slips out of a stripped screw and scrapes/tears a trace off of the PCB, that then has to be repaired properly). Even if it's just the screw that was damaged, you may have to have replacements lying around (if business related), and given the increasing number of specialty screws, such as tamper resistant versions, that alone can be a pain. Especially if you have to order the replacement screws to finish a job.

Just a thought.

Does Wera make a large set like that Wiha set? Nothing against Wiha, but my other screwdrivers are Wera, and would like to keep them the same. I did some looking on amazon, but couldn't come up with anything.
