Depends on how many pieces you want. I'm partial to Wiha, just a touch over your budget:

http://www.amazon.com/Wiha-62990-Proturn-Phillips-Screwdriver/dp/B0006OBFHM/ref=sr_1_9?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1388444942&sr=1-9&keywords=wiha+precision+screwdriver+set

http://www.amazon.com/Wiha-26190-Phillips-Screwdriver-Professional/dp/B00018AO0W/ref=sr_1_3?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1388444942&sr=1-3&keywords=wiha+precision+screwdriver+set

I've also had decent luck with the craftsman professionals, but I don't use them all day long. Apparently they just call them craftsman now, but they aren't really much cheaper than wiha.

I've had mine ten years or so, good quality. (hopefully it's been kept up..)

Philips sizes fro PH1 to PH000, and blade sizes roughly to match.

^^^What he said. Wiha is really top notch for precision sets. They're not that expensive unless you want the complete master technicians set.

I grabbed one of those a few years ago, looked good for the price. Within 6 months, all 4 flatheads had either bent side to side, or a corner chipped off. One of the phillips twisted completely off. Granted, I might have been applying more force than necessary, but this was used mainly for electronics repair.

I agree with the Lowes suggestion, for whatever reason they seem to have a good selection of mini-drivers for super cheap.

Not the greatest quality, but probably worth picking up just because of the price and you get a bunch of driver bits so you should have the bases covered.

Sounds like maybe you were over-driving it, or using then to pry with? :dunno: What kind of "electronics"? I use this on glasses, watches and other tiny assembles. Its a handy substitute for a jewelers set.

OK, I popped out to HD and took a look for the Torx version; both still available (Screwdriver section) both $5.98 at my location.

Made in Taiwan, not red China.

Yes, I bought the Torx version...

Depends on what you need. If you need slotted and philips? Husky makes some decent CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP sets (some are complete, some are not) for around 5-10 bucks (might be on christmas clearance now). I bought one last year but I think it has some exotic torx in it...it was a set of 8 or so (can't remember off hand). They're good. I also have the hdx precision stuff which is usually cheaper and decent for most things.

You could go wera or wiha in that price range but the set will be somewhat more limited based on the price. Not completely limited but somewhat.

Since you say "barely used" any of those cheap home depot sets is fine (or possibly some kobalt or non-kobalt set you find at lowes). I actually use most of my stuff even if I have duplicates. My main precision set for electronics is actually the **** 5 dollar stanley yellow set. It's held up great for 5 or so years but I think the tips on the husky (or hdx) are better (can't remember which is actually better, they're both pretty good).

Don't get those dollar store-esque generic precision sets though, those ****.

I like the Wiha, not sure what I have in that brand, but I have both slot, ph, and torx Husky bit tool and like them alot, but I saw some surface rust on some bits, and I keep them inside.

Re: Precision screwdriver set, anything.cheap but decent??

Will probably get some laughs on this one, but I've been using a 10 PC slotted and phillips set I picked up at my local Dollar Tree for about six years now and haven't broken or rounded one off yet. It hasn't been used often, but when I need it, I need it! Especially when I need to tighten the screws on my eyeglasses. For only a buck, I figured I better buy a backup set, but still haven't needed to open it yet.
