Pocket handle on my Kersaw knife is loose so why not buy another tool? Looks like it takes a T6 Torx driver and the smallest my Snap On set goes down to is T8. Obviously this is a low torque situation being that small of a screw so I shouldn't need that great of a set. On the other hand the smaller the screw you would think importance of quality would go up. Anyone have any experience with any of these? Of all of these I don't see anything more than the Channellock or Eklind needed. I have other tools from both manufacturers and have never had issues.

Channellock Made in the USA less than 10 bucks, here tomorrow.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XPPLGQO/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Husky China less than 11 bucks 2 days.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LHFAWGO/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Eklind Made in USA 15 bucks here tomorrow.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0029T6X2O/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Wera Germany 40 bucks 2 days

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007ICV4FS/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Wiha Germany over 50 bucks at least a week delivery. I had originally planned on buying these because it showed delivery in only a few days and the price was $35 but within 15 minutes of looking at all the choices the delivery extended and the price shot up. I'm sure they have an algorithm built in for pricing matching stock levels or something. Amazon is the Devil.

My vote is for Wera. Everything I've gotten of their's has been fantastic quality. I have a Wera Toolcheck Plus and the screwdriver bits that are included in there are much better quality than any others I've seen.

The Wiha set you linked at the bottom of your post is excellent. If you have $50 and want a set not just the T6.

I have the regular Wera T6.

Here is the holding function Wera for $5.45. Please add $10 for my consulting fee. ;)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000XIUET6/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Wiha and Wera are good. I don't have experience with the others but the Husky looks like junk and it takes non standard bits.

I like that and it's cheap. Only problem is it may get lonely and wish I wasn't cheap. I threw the Husky in just to put a lower end tool in but it was even more than the Channellocks.

After I typed that out I just hit the Buy it Now and it will be here Saturday. Thanks, I didn't see individual Wera drivers.

wera's precision drivers are good. can't go wrong with that, wiha, or pb swiss.

and yes, quality matters even for small fasteners.

I own some PB Swiss and some Wiha in Torx.

In the U.K. Wiha have always been “mid range” on price, quality is good, as is value for money. Would I pay a huge premium for them? To be honest, probably not. I might for the PB Swiss, but probably not for Wiha.

Unless there’s anything you specifically dislike about them, I’d probably go for the Eklind and pocket the saving.

Wiha do offer a tiny set of Torx L keys, which are high quality and (when I got them) relatively inexpensive. The steel in these is first class and I find them incredibly useful! Wiha have always made nice Torx L keys.

I think the Wera drivers are all made in the Czech Republic. That’s not a negative, and the quality of their screwdriver blades is top end, but I don’t personally like their handles. Shape is fine, but I don’t like the soft parts which are not durable. Probably fine for clean work.

Just to add more confusion, my favourite micro screwdrivers are Facom (shown below). The blades are better finished than Wiha, the handles are better designed, and just a little bigger. They’re much better suited to small mechanical work, rather than electronics! I don’t own any Torx, but a set is on my wish list...!

Ohhhhhhhhhhh I like those!

I already ordered the solo Wera but I may put that set on my list if for nothing other than the cool case. I hate precision tools just rolling around.

I have SOME of these Wiha, not the full Torx set. They really are excellent. Good enough that I bought the small Phillips (includes both #0 and #00) and slotted set.

For $41 currently, this is the best value in precision drivers

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000WTBO4/?tag=atomicindus08-20

I own that along with

https://www.kctoolco.com/wiha-92190-master-technicians-bench-top-screwdriver-set-50-pieces/

and

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JQ753W8/?tag=atomicindus08-20

so I can speak with some authority that if all you got was the $41 set you would be pretty well (not completely) covered for most anything that you will likely encounter. Worth noting the 2 sets linked from amazon are also ESD safe handles if you do work with electronics.

Wera make nice drivers and I own several individual and sets of theirs; Wiha are the best precision drivers full stop.

I'll add to the Wiha recommendations. They are excellent precision drivers. Bested (IMO) only by PBSwiss, I own both.

Xiaomi Mijia Wiha Daily Use Screwdriver Kit 24 Precision Magnetic Bits Alluminum Box Screw Driver https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0796SN4C9/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Don't forget this set if your considering value. This kit should be the same bits if I recall correctly.

I have that same set but they are labeled Craftsman and there are eight of them.

Solution is to buy a single T6 bit.
Anything else is just wasting money and space.

No I don't fully agree here. Yes it cost more to get a set, and yes OP has some of what would be included in a given set. When it comes to small stuff you may never need some or most of what's in a set, but if you encounter once a fastener you can't work with, it will happen again at some point. Is it possible to own one of every single fastener type? yes, but only until someone creates a new one which we all know will happen. But you can reduce the 'common' (considering much of what you may encounter with small screws are not common outside certain job titles anyway) possibility of not having the driver you need.

I agree generally something like 'i need one of every socket to fill my Hansen tray' is not adding as much value to your tool chest as much as aesthetic. I am approaching a 'complete' set of precision drivers differently than that.

The Channellock set looks like the Craftsman set I've had for years. I think were made by Pratt-Reed / Ideal. Work fine on a Kershaw Link and Dividend.

That’s the one I went with. Did the job perfectly. Thanks for the tip.
I may get a complete set at some point but it will need a good box or holder of some sort.

Glad it worked out. If you do buy a full set, the T6 is a good size to have in duplicate.

I've been real pleased with the Vietnam-made Wiha rolls. They were a nice step up from my old China-made Wiha rolls which were falling apart. My one criticism of the rolls is that they only fit the small drivers. Really long drivers won't fit.

Wera also has several cases.

Wera: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0155KZV5S/?tag=atomicindus08-20
Wiha: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NLM6MFS/?tag=atomicindus08-20

The Wera case is included with this set: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009ODV0PI/?tag=atomicindus08-20 At current prices, it is a better value to buy the set rather than the empty case.
