Does anyone have any information on this 12 1/2" vice? I found some general info about the company on the practical machinist forum but cant find any details about this particular vice. Below is a link to some pictures of the vice (to lazy to re-size them). I got this vice from my grandfather who got it from his father-in-law.

Thanks in advance,

No direct info on that one, but you should know that the key vise dimension is the jaw width (opening is a nice to have), and it's weight. (telling people around her you have a 12-1/2" vise could cause heart failure!) :lol_hitti

Here's an old ad for one from 1902. It was advertised as a woodworker's vise:

Thats a Coachman's or Pattern makers vise and unless you work with thin sheet metal or Aluminum its not made for normal use. The jaws would crack off with any hard hits.

Yes, it's a very nice swivel jaw made for normal use in a woodworking, patternmaker or coachbuilder, or tinsmith's shop.

No, it's a flexible but light duty vise, not made for normal use in a blacksmith's shop.

Maybe, now you have sufficient information to confirm exactly which vise you have and and exactly what are your questions about it.
