Prentiss Vice No. 10

I would like an opinion on the worth of this vice. I have had several offers but need an opinion from someone knowledgable.

It has a bent handle, missing it's anchoring bolts, and looks like the sliding bar might have a slight crack in it. I realize it needs restoration.

Take a picture of the back of the "sliding bar" looks like it has a pretty significant crack running down the top of it. Common with Prentiss vises. Are the jaws ~4.5" wide? What do you think it is worth?

Prentiss vise #10 was mfg and sold as a woodworkers flat vise with 4-1/2 inch size jaws, swivel rear dynamic jaw and a fixed base for $11

Unfortunately, people over the years used/abused them by using them as mechanic or machinist vises.

Any breaks, cracks or missing parts always affects the value, so like in anything, condition is what raises or lowers the price.

Unfortunately, it's only worth around 25$ (IMHO). The crack in the slide & bent handle means that there was some serious abuse with it.

OP . . . how good of a deal are you possibly getting?? If back moveable jaw is indeed cracked, that's a fatal blow to it's value.

Guys, I think the OP is the owner/seller and is trying to determine the value as he or she has people wanting to buy the vise. Hence the "have had several offers" part.
