Hello,

I plan on putting epoxy in our new garage and have cinder block around the edge. I was not sure if I could epoxy this or if I should drylock this first then epoxy?

Any help would be great!

Check with the epoxy. My experience with epoxy floors, they are best going on a stripped/bare substrate. May be adhesion problems with block fill. Put the floor down first then paint the block.

We always recommend doing the floors first and getting them 'right' since they see the traffic and abuse, while the walls get none. To save money, when doing the floor paint some of the epoxy on a piece of cardboard and then take it to your local paint store and have them tint up some gloss enamel to match and use that on the walls. This is inexpensive and you won't notice the difference.

Block can really **** up the expensive epoxy, an unnecessary expense!

Thank you for the responses. We have one cinder block showing and I wanted to cover this but could just paint it with dry lock as you state. Would you recommend using the epoxy on a cement stop into the house when floor is being done or do it later?

I tried to add a picture we shall see if it works. (Floor is dirty and needs housed from dry wall work)

I painted mine to match the wall.

The steps were done at the same time the floor was. I did the sides of the steps later because of time.

Sent from my tractor seat.
