prep for polyurea floor

Talked with a company that does polyurea floor light flake which they say is not as durable vs heavy flake more durable with longer warranty 3 years vs 5 years. Their prep is acid wash no grinding.( new floor no oil or sealant) is this OK? Cost is I think pretty good about 2.25 a sq foot I am unsure about acid wash without grinding

Acid etching for a polyurea application is asking for failure. Your concrete needs to be shot blasted or ground to provide a minimum ICRI-CSP 3-5 surface profile, no exceptions.

With very few exceptions, professional floor coating companies always grind their floors. Anything less, then they mostly likely fall into the category of amateurs.

As mentioned, an expert will always know the importance of preparation. It would be silly not to grind...
