Prep old stained concrete before SPGX ONE PART POLYUREA COATING

What are the optimal preparation steps before applying SPGX one part polyurea?

Half the slab is a 32 years old painted concrete.
The other half has just been repoured.

I would think you will need to prep the painted side and I would think you might want to speak with the maker about how to make sure what needs to be done to keep the two different slabs looking the same post install.

Might just be an etching, but I would think grinding per their specs to the entire floor. Check with them, proper prep is the best way to a great looking finish.

The paint should be removed by grinding to ‘even out’ the porosity. Also any coating can only stick to what is under it so if the old coating peels so will the ne coating.

On this floor grind it, then install the SPGX. Most likely you will need two coats since the grinded floor will be porous.
