But seriously, I didn't know that stunt planes were so small. Makes sense -- HP to weight ratio and all.

Small wings roll faster... :)
The plane on the right - moderately aerobatic. The bi-plane, hard to tell, but probably about the same. Not sure that either have inverted oil systems - so to me, stunts are limited..

Both are "garage built" by guys like you and me. Only you don't build them right, the risk is a lot higher.

Sorry, not envious. That's no a garage, it's just some rich guy's showroom.

People DO things in garages- like fix, modify or create. That guy only has just enough tools to change the oil and plugs in the planes.

That's the kind of guy that pays other people to come over and do the work on his stuff. That space is more akin to a storage closet than a garage. :D

To me, it looks like a C3 corvette and two planes hand assembled planes (home-built) - neither of which costs more than a well equipped Camry. The biplane may cost a lot less than a well-equipped Camry. :)

Planes are "special case" in terms of being able to work on them - even "experimental" (home built) varieties like this. I can be the best darn mechanic in the world, but the FAA won't let me work on a 1962 Cessna 150....

Here's a different angle, the Vette is an optical illusion, it's actually just a golf cart back there!

Doc.

So much hate on a guy who has obviously been successful in life! I don’t get it.

My garage looks the same way. It doesn’t get used as much as I would like, but I hate the clutter. I keep it in a shed out back. Lawnmower, weed eater, all of it in the shed. The tools and the cars stay in the garage, woodworking equipment in the basement. Wood shop is cluttered.

What do these people do for a living??????????

Maybe work at a job. Maybe live off a trust fund.

Cramped lot. And the place is not occupied, looks staged.

I live in a tract home in suburbia and my neighbors are farther away than that. If I had a lot of money and were looking an expensive home, I wouldn't get one where the best place to fit the grille was on the property line.

I agree that the house isn't occupied, and that's why the garage doesn't have any tools in it. The bedroom doesn't have anything personal in it either.

They wouldn't want me in that neighborhood. With a little VHT that runway would make an excellent test track for the dragster. I can always put a wing on it and say stuff like "It's got a wing, what's your problem?"

LOL, I like your way of thinking. Nothing like a "test drive" and quickly having to stuff the ride in the garage, shut the door, turn off the lights JUST before the popo shows up looking around in a "regular" neighborhood :)

-What I don't get is why it's assumed anyone that doesn't agree with the situation therefore "hates" it.

I already said I don't "hate" it- I simply said I don't agree with it. In my opinion- and of course opinions vary :D - a space like that could be put to much better use filled with tools and used to fix, build or create something.

It has nothing to do with success. I consider myself quite successful, myself. (Success not being measured in how many airplanes one owns. :D )

The original post suggested we'd be highly envious of this guy's garage. Said garage, however, is just an empty box in which he parks a couple of small airplanes. I'm not an aviator, could hardly care less about the planes, so in my opinion there's nothing to envy there.

Now, if the guy had a Yoder, a good cast-iron framed English wheel, a selection of belt and disc sanders, a good collection of forming hammers and a shotbag, a couple of Beverlys, a nice TIG and other tools, and there was evidence the guy actually used them to repair or upgrade said planes, then I would be envious.

Or, if he had ditched the planes altogether and had a frame jig table set up and was assembling a chopped and channeled '33 Plymouth with a late-model Hemi, that, too, would make me envious.

Or, if he simply had several rows of small CNC machining centers and was producing a selection of custom parts or tools, I'd be envious.

But, not being a plane guy, I have a hard time being envious of an empty room with two small planes and a golf cart parked in it. :D

That's not "hate", it's "lack of envy". There's a difference. :)

Lots of odd comments on here for people who know zero about aviation. Also bagging on the owner for not having a space with an *** ton of clutter.

I'm an aircraft guy, my opinion of that place is complete indifference. It's basically a 4 car garage with a couple of self-propelled coffins in it.

The clutter was probably in storage. That photo was staged with at least one borrowed plane. Heck, I bet the biplane and the vette aren’t his either.

When we sold our last house the realtor gave us a sheet on what she recommends to stage a house. The first things on the list was to put everything that you absolutely don’t need on a daily basis in storage. We did everything on her list and she sold the house in a few weeks.

Didn't you know, it's one of the new go-to catch phrases nowadays. Seems that the left is particularly fond of using that word whenever there's a difference of opinion.

I used to think that houses with big attached garages/shops/hangars were the hot ticket.

After seeing some real tragic events in these kind of places, a detached building is my preference.
