I’ve read that I should wait about a month before attempting to epoxy or stain new concrete. My question is, can I go ahead and acid etch sooner or do I need to wait a month to do that too!

I’m asking because the slab is about 2 weeks old now and it would sure be easier to prepare it while the steel is erected.

You should wait till you are ready to coat the floor. Reason why is you need to remove any dirt prior to coating. If you acid etch now, you run the risk of contaminates getting in it easier and making it harder to remove.
