I'm renovating an old garage to create a bakery for my wife's business. One upcoming project is a mini split. She's going with one of the less expensive 12k units from Amazon due to price. Trouble is, I can't find a copy of the install instructions online, and from the reviews, they're pretty suspect anyway. I need to pull power for it so I can get to my sheetrocking inside.

Should be a pretty universal answer-

Do I need to provide any power supply to the location of the interior piece of the unit?
Or just to the outside unit?

Not an HVAC guy. Every mini I have seen runs power to the outside unit with a disconnect. Then a cable to the inside unit. The cheap units are used all over the world. Tour any Asian country and you will see millions of them. But there is no support for them, parts, instructions etc. If you have issues they become a disposable unit. I have had problems with 2 Daikins, 3rd most popular brand and there is almost no DIY help with them and the dealers are gas and go people. I do have the service manual for them, it is written in highly technical terms.

Every appliance, hardware store, mall etc sells minis in Asia! Most offer installation. You may even see the brand you are buying in this video. https://www.google.com/search?clien...#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:239fcb99,vid:K1Of1ETnBw0

It's an outlier, but I had a freidrich unit that was powered at the inside unit. It was a 2 ton unit in their Breeze line that' since been discontinued

Power to an exterior disconnect is a decently safe bet though.

All the units I've installed there's four 18 gauge wires from condenser to each indoor unit 240 vac. Two for power, one for communication and one for ground.

In our area, code is power to an outside with a disconnect. I think all the units install pretty much the same.

If its a Senville off Amazon , they are actually pretty decent units for the price. Power is ran to an exterior disconnect usually installed on the right hand side of the condensor.
