So your asking for suggestions on how to build a brake. But you don’t want a proven product that is adjustable in length when you assemble it?

Problem is you are showing me something for a 20 ton press and mine is 50 ton. The ones from Swag are just made from angle iron, I would like something a little more rigid then that.

I made one for my press, but not very wide.

I have been looking for at press brakes for presses as well. Like you I have a 50 ton. I don't think the presses extra pressure over a 20 ton is going to matter. You are going to reach 90° or whatever angle you are shooting for. In just looking and not settling on anything yet, Eastwood has several options from one that goes in a press to a small stand alone option.

Here's mine... 1x6" flat bar base, the rest is cold roll 1018. I bought the short punch on Ebay. I also have a longer one. It mostly gets used for round bar from 3/8 to 3/4 and 1/4 to 1/2 flat bar

I saw those but they are too wide for the press that I am getting. Also I really don't think they are built strong enough for what I would like.

The SWAG brake I have is less than 24" wide...

Just to be curious, how thick are you wanting to bend?

I don't have anything particular that I want to bend, just would rather build something beefy now so down the road I can bend what ever I want.

I have been looking at Ebay for the punch and dies and man do they get a pretty penny for them.

I hate to go cold rolled and regret it later because they start to deform on the edge.

I like it, what did you use for the punch and die?

Cold rolled steel I had around. I make sure to bend only flats with it. I have slip-on tooling for bending round bars and such. I recently got hold of a few hundred pounds of American style press brake tooling free, so now thinking of building a wider model with various width upper and lower tooling similar to what Joebass has. American style tooling has a tongue for clamping in the die holder.
