press flywheel on electric motor

I need to put the flywheel back on my pump motor. It was pressed on, and came off with a wheel puller. Can it be tamped back on with a wood block, or will this ruin the bearings? thanks

You might hurt the bearings if it is a tight press fit. You could try to heat the flywheel hub hot enough to slide the wheel on the pump shaft. It is very likely that is how the factory did it. You could put the flywheel in an oven and heat it or use a torch.
