What is the difference between a A-frame style press and the typical horizontal beam on the top type press?

Also if you were in the position to get a A-frame style for cheap, would you go for one or hold out for the horizontal beam>?

The flat surface presents more places to stack junk, tools, adapters, safety equipment, and related press tools.

Besides the obvious HF 12t A and 20t horiz., at what presses are you looking?

Depends on how cheap your talking. And what ton is this A frame press. If its stupid cheap pick it up and when u find something better sell it.

It looks like the work surface is narrower (based on the fitment of the plates.) I'll take my horizontal because some a-arm bushing work needs extra room. But if you know what you're doing with it won't require any extra elbow room, it looks like a decent buy.
