Pressure Gauge for Craftsman Air Compressor

I have a horizontal Craftsman 33 gallon air compressor that is about 10 years old. I'm sure I'm not using the correct terminology for these parts, but hopefully I can explain it well enough. Anyway, the pressure gauge on this thing broke and now has the insides folded up and is stuck on saying there is 40psi in the tank regardless of how much air is actually in there. This gauge screws into the aluminum block that the regulator is screwed into. So, I bought a Milton gauge with a 1/4" NPT fitting on it to replace this. I thought all air fittings were 1/4" or 3/8" and knew it wouldn't be the bigger of the two. Anyway, I pull this one off and go to install the Milton and to my surprise it doesn't fit. The fitting on the gauge that came on the Craftsman compressor is a lot smaller than on the Milton. I didn't have calipers handy so I'm not sure the exact size of it, but it wasn't even a close fit. Is there a 1/8th NPT fitting? I tried doing some searching online before I joined this forum and I can't find any gauges with a smaller fitting than 1/4". I'm also having trouble finding out what I have here or what I need. Is there an adapter fitting that will allow me to use the Milton? Anyone run into this before and know what size this thing is?

Could be a 1/8 npt, measure it when you get a change and we'll know for sure. And they do make 1/4 - 1/8 adapters.

My Craftsman air compressor is oldr but used 1/8" NPT threaded gauges.

They are cheap on eBay.

My old Craftsman did too. You an barely see them in this photo. They are clocked two different ways--out the back or at the 6 o'clock on the gauge face.

I have same compressor and indeed they are 1/8". If you want to get crazy, I just removed the 1-1/2" plug in the end and used a bushing to reduce down to 1/2". Now I run all 1/2" fittings and hose instead the tiny 3/8" coming out of the stock regulator.
