Pressure Pot (?) for spraying rustproofing oil

Hi,

Many pressure pots seem to show two hoses, one for air, one for material. The kind I want clearly does not:

So Id either like to build this identical setup, or find an alternate route to making it since the retail is around $800. I have to imagine I can do better.

I want to spray rustproofing oils onto my cars with it.

Can anyone advise? Not sure if anyone knows who the manufacturer of that specific item is, Ive seen that one and the 5-gal one sold from a few rustproofing manufacturers, but wonder if there is a direct link to the actual builder of them. It looks to me like a propane tank with some NPT fittings, a hose and a spray gun.

Thanks!

Recommendations?

My issue is that I'd like to be able to use wands off of the gun that get me into tight spots, and also have a nearly 360 degree spray...

For what it's worth. This may or may not be your answer. I have an Alemite Stewart Warner undercoat gun on Ebay right now. It looks as though is going to go for cheap, so maybe take a look, and you decide.

I don't know anything about the setup you desire and apologize for the "spam". Just thought maybe it would enable you to fab your device at an affordable price. Good luck. Bill

I like the possibilites of that idea.

Except can you swap "wands" to have options like these:

My impression is that the airless and other spray guns really just have one kind of nozzle interface, kind of like these:

So I doubt you have that much flexibility.

But I may be wrong, which is why Im here to learn...

Well what I really want is not only the big storage tank, but also the one-hose gun, and the ability to put wands on it. I dont want the gun to have a hopper on it, as Ill be doing this fairly uncomfortably - with my car on ramps, on my back, with goggles and a respirator.

The real long pole in the tent is the tank system. Finding the right gun I would guess is easy...

That setup looks like a contact cement system I used to use for plastic laminate. Its a self contained unit that is factory charged with glue, and uses propane for the propellant, if I remember. It was nice for field work, since you didn't have to lug a compressor with you. When the canister was empty, you would return the core for a refilled one. (The hose and gun you had to buy) The major drawback was the cost.

Well this one does use an air compressor to move the product. It is refillable.

How heavy is the oil? If it's not too thick I would think that a pump type weed sprayer would probably work pretty well and they are inexpensive.

Its heavy enough that especially if cold it will not atomize well.

And an important aspect is that the gun be able to accept the wands like shown above to facilitate spraying into hard to reach spots inside of panels and structures.

The weed sprayers basically come with one of those wands anyway, and I figured if you are considering building a pressure vessel yourself you are probably handy enough to make up different attachments out of brake line and surgical tubing. The weed sprayers I've used can spray several feet, which is more than adequate if you are fishing a wand directly into frame members. In fact, the lower pressure would probably ensure that more of the oil ended up on the car than all over your garage.
