Working on cleaning up my old Brunner compressor to put it back in service.

It works but I want to replace the pressure switch, regulator and wiring so its good for another long while.
The motor is 3HP, draws 18 amps @ 220 according to label.
The pressure switch is ancient and is wired into a T fitting from the tank, with the regulator on the other side. I have previously only ever owned modern oil-less compressors, never had one apart so I am just teaching myself the workings of a compressor.

I need guidance choosing a pressure switch and how things should be arranged. There is 1/4 copper line coming off the existing pressure switch which is not hooked up anywhere. No clue where this should go and I think this is from the "unloader valve"?
If I understand this right I should need a pressure switch rated for 3HP @ 220V good for 90-125 PSI with a single fitting on it. Does that sound correct?
Anything else I should be looking at?
Does the regulator have to mounted off the pressure switch or can it be separate?

The regulator shouldn't have anything to do with the pressure switch. You certainly don't want to regulate the pressure that the switch sees. It should only see the pressure in the tank.

Sounds to me like you know what pressure switch to use. They really aren't that complicated, so don't overthink it.

Do you have a 1/8 inch pipe plug fitting in that one way valve closest to the 90 elbow?

That small line should be connected to the pump side of the valve to blow off the pump head pressure at start up.

Thanks I think I got it, it needs to be plumbed in between the output of the pump and the check valve for the tank right? Should be no problem.

Nevermind... I misread the post. I thought jonezer said "between the outlet of the tank & the checkvalve"...
