pressure tank location. conditioned vs non conditioned space

is there any advantage to having my pressure tank located in a conditioned space vs non conditioned?

situation:
I have a 6x8 walk in well house w/ plenty of room for pressure tank. the well house is around 100ft away from house/shop. I also have a semi-conditioned basement/shop were my Heat pump water heater will be located. I'm going to install a 50-60 gallon pressure tank. It looks like to me if the water tank is sitting in conditioned space then the water will be closer to a usable temp vs sitting outside in the well house. and my water heater my not have to work as hard.

Is this correct thinking or is it not worth the space it would take up in my shop/basement?

Do you drink "Cold" water out of the faucet or do you worry more about a 15 degree conditioned/nonconditioned differential?

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. I do drink water from the faucet. ??

It's really up to you, I've seen them both ways.

At our current home the tank is in the crawl space, as are most others here in our location.

At our previous home that was built on a slab, the tank was in the utility room (a conditioned space).

As Tractor Jeff eluded to, having the tank in a cool space will help keep the water cooler.

At our old house we had the tank in the pump house. The ground water there came out of the ground near 40*F all year. The pump house was well insulated and did not freeze and stayed cool all year long. We used it as a food storage room and on a hot day a beer or soda from the shelf was a cold enough to drink. I would not want the tank in a heated space and be drinking warm water from the tap. Also be aware that tanks can sweat and put water on the floor.

I would also think that a water tank near a heat pump water heater would **** up energy that the water heater could be using.

Ayuh,... A pressure tank will function anywhere in the system,....
My system has 2, 1 at the wellhead, 'n another in the house,...
Since I added the 2nd, pressure in the house is much more even,...

The biggest issue if in an unconditioned space is, it can't Freeze,....

if there's no definite advantage to one or the other, I guess ill just put It in the well house so I get more room in my shop and I won't have to run an extra wire for the pressure switch from the tank to the pump controller/starter in the well house.
