Hey guys, Been reading the forum for some time, love the site. I have been thinking about an electric pressure washer (already have a gas) like a Karcher to keep hooked up in the garage to wash cars, clean small stuff etc. But I was thinking instead of both a pressure washer and a regular hose and nozzle, what about boosting the regular hose and maybe adding an eductor for soap. I think something like this (maybe not HF).

Any thoughts?

I have an AALADIN hot water one that was the best money I ever spent. It will rip paint off of anything if need be.I use it to clean all my concrete also in the spring time and it comes out looking new.I wash my truck with it and use it alot to blast clean parts if there really dirty.

Garden hoses are not rated for that high of pressure.
If you have PEX tubing the higher temps lowers the psi rating considerably.
At 145 psi I am not sure if you will get whole lot of cleaning action. Plus if you are on a well system you may not have enough supply to feed the pump.

I checked and the Goodyear commercial hose I already use is rated to 250 psi working. It only boost about 30 to 40 psi over incoming up to a maximum of 145 psi. The reason I thought of this was the higher gpm. I am thinking that I would be disappointed with the small electric pressure washers. Just looking for an in between a hose and a good pressure washer. I have seen systems similar to this in fire stations before, they seem to clean pretty well.

It may work but your supply line is going to have to be larger than the goodyear line to get the benifit of this pump.
