Pressure washer hose

Does anyone use the 3/8" Flexilla 50' hose ? This has the 3/8 inch connectors and isn't the small 1/4" hose with M22 connectors. I can't find a you tube review of this one - only the 1/4" version.

My current hose works but it is stiff, hard to coil up and when stretched out, it wants to re-coil. I do not want a reel as it isn't mountable on my Milwaukee 4555-22 pressure washer internet photo Wondering how flexible the Flexilla hose is, does it have coil memory, does it want to coil once laid out and how easy is it to roll up.

I purchased a few cheap hoses from Lowes for a project. I stretch out what is needed and get to work. I understand your frustration though!

For water, the best hose has an EPDM inner tube, especially if ever using hot water through the hose. Hot water is nasty on the cheaper synthetic rubber hoses. Also, a quality EPDM hose has less memory to when it comes to recoiling it, and it generally has a more open weave reinforcing in the hose, also good for easier handling.

Cheap water hoses likely use polypropylene inner tubes which tend to remain stiff and retian whatever coiled shape they were packaged into.

I went ahead and got the Flexilla. Came in yesterday. It lays out flat and if there is a coil memory it is negligible. It's also a lot easier to coil up in one hand. My original hose had a canvas type covering which made it abrasion resistant I guess and the Flexilla does not have that. Will see how long it lasts. I'm never rough on hoses. Dragging on concrete is the most abuse it will see.

I have the Flexzilla with the regular fittings. I'd be hard pressed to buy quick connects for the hose. I already somewhat despise it on wand nozzle. Got to keep this things dry or they will start to rust/corrode up.


I like the Flexzilla as a PW hose better than the hose that came with it.

By Flexilla with regular fittings, do you mean a regular garden hose?

Your Flexilla PW hose, is it the 1/4 inch with M22 fittings or the 3/8" with 3/8" quick connects?

Yes, I also have Flexzilla garden hose with a typical fitting, some Flexzilla extension cords and Flexzilla air hose.

I have their air hose too. Haven't tried the garden hoses. I like the Zero G hoses.

Tried out the flexilla 3/8" PW hose and it is wonderful. 1000% better than the stiff hose that came with my PW. Lays out flat during use. Coils up nicely to put it up. Should have bought this years ago.

Just ordered the 100 ft Flexilla. With 150 ft total, I can reach all the way around the house without moving the PW off the driveway. Of course, I'll have to go around one side and then the other side but that's better than moving the PW through the grass. Especially since my yard slopes downward front to back. Moving the PW back uphill in this Florida heat isn't fun and I'm not getting younger. The potential psi loss hopefully won't make any difference. I've read it may be around 1 psi per ft of hose.

Can anyone confirm psi loss per ft?

Whatever you do, do not leave your Flexilla hose outside. I've had 2 of the water hoses and both got all tacky, sticky, gummie after 1 year. I had to throw them away because I couldn't stand using them anymore as they left my hands all sticky too. I don't know if it was the UV rays, the cold, the heat, but they got disgusting. I tried to clean them, but nothing made the gummieness go away. Shouldn't be an issue on a PW hose, but why take the risk.

Anyone know the specs for the o-ring on the male end of the M22 connector? I need to replace the one on pump end. Campbell Hausfeld customer service was not able to help me.

I see Flexilla offers 1/4 and 5/16" hoses both with the M22 end. Interchangeable? Any advantage of one vs the other?

If it was me I'd probably choose the 5/16". Machines that use this size are usually less than 3 gpm and that 1/16" may make a difference in flow.

EDIT: price is for a 3100 psi rated hose and not 3600. 3600 is $77

I did find this chart which deals with pressure washer hose sizes and flow rates. My 4 gpm with 3/8" hose loses 90 psi so about 1 gpm/ft. The last comment on the page says "The chart values are valid at all pressure levels".

That chart will help you determine the pressure loss for 1/4 and 5/16 hoses. Looks like loss on 5/16 is 1/3 of the 1/4. There is also a comment on that page that says if the hose is 1/2 the length (50 ft) then loss is exactly 1/2 of 100 ft loss.
