So my dad came by today an dropped this thing off. It's a Troy bilt power washer with the honda 5hp motor. He says it only sprays with what seems like half pressure. It's model 01903. Any ideas on a rebuild or a replacement pump? The engine runs perfectly.

The gun is trash. He ran over it with the truck by accident.

I believe it's the unloader that is stuck. I pulled the top of the pump off where the valves are. All three plastic valves are in like new shape and there is zero corrosion inside the pump. The pistons all look good and move freely when I pull the starter cord. The unloader, however, looks like hell. It is corroded in the bore. I can't figure out if it screws in or is pressed in. It takes a good bit of force to move the plunger by hand with the spring removed. I have it soaking in Pb blaster right now to try and free things up.

Have any of you guys removed and replaced an unloader before on one of these units?

Here are some pictures of the unloader. The first is the front with the spring and nut removed, the second is the inside with all the corrosion.

Anyone know if this unloader will blow out with water pressure like the ones on karcher pumps? I've seen that fix described a few times on the Internet. A new unloader can be had for 25 bucks online.

I ended up threading the nut back on the shaft, clamping a big set of vise grips on it, and tapping it out with a deadblow hammer. All the O rings are crusty and the plunger was essentially jammed. I have it soaking in clr to remove the deposits now. I'm going to put all new o rings in the assembly and grease it up with white lithium grease and see what happens. I'm pretty positive this will fix it as that unloader would barely move.
